Genus Information
Dracaena is a genus of roughly 120 species of plants with a wide distribution. They can be found in Africa, Southern Asia, Northern Australia, and a small number in Central America. Some members of the species are also known as Dragon Trees which comes from the name dracaena meaning Female Dragon in Ancient Greek. It also contains the previously separate Genus of Sansevieria.
Care Requirements – Easy
Light requirements
Dracaena marginata prefers bright indirect sunlight but can cope with partial shade.
Watering requirements
The Dragon Tree can cope with periods of drought, it is best to give it a drink when the top of the soul has dried out.
Humidity requirements
Dracaena marginata is fine with normal household humidity but does prefer slightly higher humidity, therefore it will appreciate an occasional misting

Can reach heights of up to 2 metres
Origin
Originally native to Africa.
Flowering
Dracaena marginata does not produce flowers when grown indoors.
Foliage
This dracaena produces long green leaves with distinctive red edges. The sap produced by the tree is toxic if consumed so keep away from pets or children.
