Genus Information
Tradescantia are a genus of 75 species of herbaceous perennials native to the Americas. The genus is made up of both climbing and trailing species reaching up to 60cm in length. Also known as Spiderwort or Inch Plant, they are sometimes confused with succulents due to their ability to store a lot of water in their stems. Some species are known to be mildly toxic to Dogs and Cats so be sure to keep out of reach of any curious animals.

Watering requirements
Spiderwort likes a damp environment, but can cope with periods of draught also due to the fact they store a relatively high amount of water in their leaves. Give it a bit of a drink once the soil starts to dry out.
Humidity requirements
Tradescantia zebrina ‘Yellow Hill’ prefers an area with high humidity but can cope with normal humidity. Mist occasionally to keep the leaves looking nice and fresh.

Tradescantia zebrina ‘Yellow Hill’ has similar foliage to Tradescantia ‘Green Hill’ except with a yellow and cream tinge on the edge of the leaves.
