Genus Information
Spathiphyllum is a genus of flowering plants also known as Peace Lilies, although they have no relation to true Lilies. Like anthuriums the white flower-like structure is actually a spathe or a modified leaf. Native to tropical rainforests Peace Lilies can cope with low light and are not huge drinkers however it is important they are kept somewhere nice and humid.

Light requirements
Spathiphyllum ‘Sweet Chico’ prefers bright indirect sunlight.
Watering requirements
Allow the Peace lilies soil to dry out slightly between watering.
Humidity requirements
Spathiphyllum ‘Sweet Chico’ requires an area with high humidity. Mist regularly to keep the leaves looking nice and fresh.
Growth
Can reach heights of up to 0.8 metres and is a moderate grower. It will however be restricted by the size of pot it is in.
Origin
Originally native to South America.
Flowering
Once flowers fade cut them away to make way for new growth. Can flower multiple times a year with proper care.
Foliage
Spathiphyllum has attractive green foliage, which is considered mildly toxic.
