Mentha spicata is quite a fast grower and in the right conditions will reach its full size in 2-5 years. It can reach heights of up to 1m and will spread up to 1.5m.
Mentha spicata produces purple flowers. These flowers will be produced between June to August.
Spearmint is a deciduous plant and produces green foliage. This plant produces fragrant foliage. and it will benefit from being cut back once it has finished flowering to promote growth next year.
Mentha spicata is generally pest free, it can also be vulnerable to certain diseases such as powdery mildews and rust. It is also known to attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators and is toxic to cats and dogs.
Spearmint loves the wet, can deal with a damp soil with some drainage or even poorly draining soils and it can be planted in soil of any pH.

Selected bulky products are available to be delivered Nationwide by a Pallet delivery service. The cart will display a price if this service is applicable to your order and deliverable to your location.
Items are delivered to your driveway. The drivers are unable to take items into your house or garden. Drivers cannot assist in unpacking the item. Cost is for one item only. The items are delivered on a pallet and the pallet would be left at the delivery location. If ordering multiple items and your order exceeds one item there may be additional charges.
You will be contacted with a delivery date. This can be rearranged upon request.
We offer a Click and Collect service for those wishing to collect their order directly from Stratford Garden Centre or customers outside of our delivery areas.
